Piper lost the frozen sword she got and the cornucopia.
Annabeth lost her knife and Dadaelus’ laptop
Percy Lost the Curse of Achilles,
Jason Lost his coin sword/Spear.
Seriously why can’t the heroes keep their cool stuff!
So i was a die hard fan of the series and read through the first saga when I was like 12, when the lost hero was released I bought it and read it. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t like the first five books later I read the son of Neptune and I liked more than the book that came before but my interested in the saga worn out.
When I search on internet people praise the house of hades so much and i was wondering if it was worth to keep going with the books to reach house of hades, I know that the last book is shit but I won’t read that.
Thanks for your time.
hello friends! I want to preface this by saying that I know that seeing as i am in a fan subreddit that a great majority of people will just want to say an instant yes to my question. which I entirely understand and I'm not here to be wishy washy or say that heroes of olympus is bad or anything! or I hope not at least
so basically I read Percy Jackson and the Olympians when I was a small baby child a long time ago (it wasn't that long it was like 9 years actually holy shit it was a while). anyway I liked it a lot back then and I became one of those nerd kids that knew pop culture mythology to a weird degree.
later one I'd reread the series twice, read the first two books of the Egyptian series because I got them for my birthday, and read the first two books of the heroes of olympus series. although unfortunately I burned out with Mark of Athena for various reasons I'll explain in a bit
the original series will always hold a special place in my heart and because of that I reread it recently! I still very much enjoyed it even if I came back with an adult lens that generally critiques any kids book for putting children in mortal danger but I certainly understand that as a kid I lived for that stuff and target audiences are super important! I write too (badly), I get it!
so that's my biography, I've been a fan of the original series and at least tried the other ones. I think I even read the first book of the viking series where I think balder gets his pizza poisoned by mistletoe flakes? that might have been a different book series I'm not sure
so to the point at hand, I was curious how worth it, it was to finish the heroes of olympus series. I tried getting into the books around a year ago and I had many of the same issues I had when I read through them last time
those issues all culminating with Mark of Athena. I liked the first two books fair enough, my biggest issues being that I could not for the life of me empathize with Leo at all in his lonely single life (not to say I'm some beautiful dame with dozens of suitors or anything I'm just not super into dating, although I do love my current gf she was very much the one to initiate), I felt the conflict between Percy and Jason over leadership was weak, the pacing in mark of Athena felt extremely weird and bored me, all seven of them together seemed to derail the plot with just too much.
just general thoughts, I'd do a more worthwhile write up but I don't remember the stories very well at this point hon... keep reading on reddit ➡
A child in grade 5, sees a big book. I took it, saw it was "book 1" and read to about book 4.
Now, being 16. I was like hey. I really liked that series, I should read it again. But my friend was like, You need to read percy Jackson first!..
So I did. But yep, I read backwards. I don't really regret it because I really enjoyed the characters. Expect Jason.. he was bland. But that's what I expected of main characters till I read the Percy Jackson series. Lol
*Note: Feats are ordered from least impressive to most within their subsection.
*Note 3: Magical metals such as Celestial Bronze and Imperial Gold are inconsistent in their strength (as with everything in this series), but generally speaking they're implied to be much tougher than most mortal metals.

Just read the Heroes of Olympus and now im looking for something similar - a book with many good characters, exciting and interesting plot and a little bit of magic, but not much cheesy romance. And preferably a series.
I know there's probably many books like this but im awful at finding good books to read. Would be very thankful if you could help.
This is a totally hypothetical scenario that will probably never happen, but if whoever owns the rights to Percy Jackson (Fox I believe) decided to make movies that actually stayed true to the books, which would you prefer: live action movies or animated movies. It would probably be easier to add smaller details if it were animated. On the other hand, live action would be a lot more realistic.
I have read the entire original series, but it’s been a VERY long time since I did so. I only remember fragments here and there. Would it would you not recommend reading Heroes of Olympus without going back and rereading the original series?
Only refer to Thanos from the cinematic universe, not the comics (because then he is way to strong). Celestial bronze and Imperial Gold work on everyone.
Round 1: Thanos (with no infinity stones) vs The Seven (Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Piper McLean, Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, Frank Zhang, Hazel Levesque). In Central Park. 5 days prep time for the Seven. (If Stomp give Percy the Curse Of Achilles + Hazel Has Arion + Festus)
Round 2: Thanos (with no infinity stones) vs The Seven + Nico Di Angelo and Reyna Remírez-Arellano (with Aurum and Argentum). In Central Park. 1 week prep time for the Seven+. (If Stomp give Percy the Curse Of Achilles + Hazel Has Arion + Festus )
Round 3: Thanos' followers (no huge army) vs Camp Jupiter + Camp Half-blood + Hunters of Artemis (Artemis not included unless stomp) + The Amazons. In Camp Jupiter. Two weeks prep time for the camps+. (If Stomp, give them the Seven and Artemis)
Round 4: Thanos + Followers vs Olympus (All Olympian Gods). One day prep time for both sides. On Olympus.
Yes only because I want to picture Annabeth and Percy matching all the time, I just think that would be adorable. Also that is just my head canon. Please tell me if Uncle Rick gave us a real answer. I do hope it's permanent
I don’t know about you guys, but I, as a nerd, am quite fond of Funko Pops, and would love it if we could get figures based off of our favorite half-bloods. It just so happens that on Funko’s website, you can suggest characters and fandoms for future funkos (try saying that five times fast). Here’s where we as a community come in: if we can fill their inbox with enough Rick Riordan requests, we’ve got a half decent chance of getting them.
Here’s the link for the suggestion box https://www.funko.com/suggest-a-product
There’s also a box for additional information/pictures of the characters. Here’s a link to the official art I suggested for Percy https://images.app.goo.gl/wqzZbUur2vA4Vw7P9 The main reason I suspect they haven’t made PJO pops yet is because for the most part the characters exist only in books (there are no movies in Ba Sing Se). However there’s more than enough artwork from Uncle Rick’s website and the graphic novels to design a figure, and if they can make Pops based off of Prince Harry and the Addams Family and Peeps, there’s more than enough demand in the Percy Jackson fandom to justify their making figures. I think we can do this guys!
Everyone is in-character.
Both sides receive no prep, however, they are given all kinds of information regarding their opponent.
Jason Grace is as he is at the end of The Lost Hero.
Kaneki Ken is as he is during his first fight with Arima.
Both sides receive 1 day of prep, along with all kinds of information regarding their opponent.
Jason is as he is in The Mark of Athena.
Kaneki Ken is as he is at his most powerful.
Both sides are a composite of all of their versions.
Both sides receive 1 week of prep, along with all kinds of information regarding their opponent.
Let the battle begin!
Take some time to remember the people who went out of the way to get rid of Gaea and, like. Make us not dead.
Stevonnie with Rose’s sword access to Steven’s gem powers with the same amount of control as Steven showed when he fought Spinel
Jason with his purple Camp Jupiter shirt and jeans, he has his Imperial Gold Sword with a shield.
Takes place in the Camp Half Blood Arena.
Fight to the death.
Bonus round: Stevonnie gets Lion and Jason gets Tempest and takes place in the Ancient Sky Arena from the gem war.
Well written stories, specifically on ao3 (though if you know any underrated ones on FFN, feel free to link). No slash, smut driven plot, or abandoned stories. Crossovers are fine with Harry Potter or minor ones that don't affect the story much.
-Vader wants to claim earth for the empire but a teenage boy arrives to stop him, stormtroopers start shooting but miss as percy cuts them down. Vader steps off the ship and decides to kill this world’s Warrior.
-Percy has Riptide and his powers
-Vader has his lightsaber and force
-Takes place by the lake in CHB
(Assume Riptide Can hurt mortals and Vader can see camp and all the demigod magic)
I never finished Heroes Of Olympus, to put it quite simply I just didn’t enjoy the series, I disliked the characters and it just wasn’t as entertaining for me. Recently I read the Sword Of Summer and really enjoyed it, so I decided to pick up the first book in the Trials Of Apollo series. Anywho, as someone who never read past The Mark Of Athena (a long time ago) is it best that I complete the Heroes Of Olympus series (which im fine with doing, my taste has probably shifted since the last time I read them) or am I fine with continuing Trials Of Apollo with my rough understanding about how the previous Pentalogy ended?
Leo thinks that Asami is a dangerous returnee from the Doors of Death while Asami thinks Leo is an Equalist technician. They resolve to battle to death or incapacitation. They both know what the other is capable of.
Round 1: They are inserted at opposite ends of a large, empty, completely dark Home Depot. They each know that the other is inside but not exactly where. Leo has his fire but no magic toolbelt, while Asami doesn't have her shock glove. Who can out-MacGyver the other?
They are at opposite ends of a busy Republic City street. Leo has both fire and toolbelt, while Asami has her glove. Police will not interfere. Who can take the other out?
They switch places. Leo is put into LoK S3 and is accepted as a member of Team Avatar, while Asami starts off on the school bus to the Grand Canyon in The Lost Hero. They both have the other's knowledge of their universes to that point. Who does better?
They team up. Can they beat MacGyver in the Home Depot of Round 1?
We're here again, this time with Heroes of Olympus, it was voted for by you and as such, I'm delivering. For the first time since the original post about The Lightning Thief, I'm doing this straight onto Reddit, so I may miss some parts out or omit parts that are standout bits, and I apologise for that if I do. Been a bit of a mad weekend for me.
Onto the book, before going into the book, I thought I'd go a bit into my thoughts of the standard of writing within the series as a whole, without going into detail outside of this post, I feel Rick did an amazing job in creating a whole new side to the world we all know, however I felt (at least the first time I read this book) that it was a task he did slightly miss the mark on (I'll note, I'm not claiming to be a better writer or anything, but as a fan I could tell the, not standard, but detail does lack a bit) This I feel is the worst part of the series, it becomes more clear in later entries within this series, but you can see them start here.
The opening is done very well, obviously we haven't had 5 books to get to know Jason as a POV or even as a character in general, so him not knowing anything is a very clear feeling extended by the reader, it's wholly new for him and us, which is written amazingly well for a opening book, at the same time though, even though he doesn't know who he is, I do feel he is written extremely strong, perhaps a bit too strong, the quote that sticks with me is;
'How are you alive?' Dylan's form flickered. 'That was enough lightning to kill twenty men'
I feel he started out extremely strong, however his strength seems to change massively throughout the book and the series as a whole, like he gets taken out a cyclops midway in the book,... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hi everyone! I am re reading Percy Jackson's books. I am reading again both sagas (Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the heroes of Olympus) and I am around the first third of The Blood of Olympus but before going to the next saga (fortunately I am a fast reader) I want to know which books do you recommend or the books between both. I remember that during the second saga Anabeth and Percy meet in Tartarus an old enemy (a Titan I believe) that I they faced on Hades and he felt on the river Styx or other river and lost his memories, and I know that there is a book with some histories. If you have the link to the Amazon Kindle it will be appreciated. Also, I love to imagine the characters on my head when I am reading, with book with movies and series is easier because I usually take those as a model, but is there any official or fan art of the characters (main and secondary) that can help me picture them while reading? Again, any help or advice will be appreciated.
So amongst the multitude of fanfics I've read recently (seriously it's like a library of free books) details of the actual canon have become distorted in my little head. I remember Percy imagining a life for himself and Annabeth in New Rome after everything settled down but in a surprising amount of fics Percy views himself as Roman by the end. So yeah, whats the deal?
Feel free to disagree with me but here is what makes me think this
Both have villains who want to utterly destroy humanity
The thing everyone seems to like the most about both are it's characters
And both had endings that were...lackluster...
Hey guys, just made a Heroes of Olympus Roleplay Discord Server! I would love it if more people joined! https://discord.gg/dPm82yr
Kids of all kinds of races circled around the campfire laughing and joking till Chiron stood infront of the fire, 10 kids followed him looking at each other nervously.
"Lets have a moment of silence in remberance of those that sacrified it all 20 years ago for the trillions of people they did and didnt know." The camper's heads hung low in silence, some of them had been there. Some had not. But they were all alive because of those sacrifices.
Chiron spoke again "but let us not be sad, and rejoice in the fact that we are alive. Let us live for them. Today let us welcome these kids into our family, cheer for the newbloods!" The crowd of campers cheered for the new members of the camp, the ten kida looked around. Some had looks of happiness and joy, and others were less gleeful.
Chiron turned around facing the ten kids, one of them being you, "well what do you say? Are you going to join us? We would love to have you here as part of our family."
years after the war of monsters and years after the fall of gaia the heroes of olympus had children of thier own. These children should have been born weaker than them but some how were born stronger. Because of this they were in danger.
The hereos of olympus spread and moved far away from each other to ensure the safety of thier children. They kept in contact with camp half blood and on one fateful day they stopped responding. They disappeared.
So camp halfblood sent thier best to retrieve the kids.
You play a child born of percy and annabeth, jason and piper, leo and calypso, nico and will, or hazel and frank. What powers you have will be dependent upon who you choose as your parents.
The story takes place 20 years after the war of monsters, apollo and magnus' chase series are not cannon.
While romance is allowed we do not accept smut.
We have 9 spots open.
Just send me a message and we can get you a spot.
In my opinion a lot of stop in Heroes of Olympus is just Percy Jackson rip off. I like Percy Jackson better, but what do you think?
I'm about to finish the Percy Jackson series, and I just want to know how much of Percy and Annabeth we see in the Heroes of Olympus series.
I just finished the Percy Jackson series, and I picked up the Heroes of Olympus series. Without spoilers, did you enjoy the series as much as Percy Jackson?
I read the percy jackson series a while back, and I'm kinda bored right now in the summer until I start my job. I was thinking of reading the Heroes of olympus series. But, I was wondering how prominently do percy and annabeth feature in the series. Cuz I really like those character and wanted to read more about them.
